Vets Helping Vets

About

In 1999, the Combat Vets Motorcycle Club emerged online, initially perceived as a genuine motorcycle organization until early 2001 when it was revealed as an internet scam targeting combat veterans for money. Consequently, 45 members decided to form the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association    (CVMA  ), officially established as a nonprofit entity on May 1st, 2001, with a primary mission of aiding veterans.

United by motorcycle riding and combat service, the original members marked themselves as founders with a distinctive patch. In May 2001, the CVMA   gained approval from the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) to wear their patch. Despite positive discussions with the VFW National, a formal relationship failed to materialize, leading the CVMA   to proceed independently in December 2002 This move extended membership to all combat veterans who ride motorcycles. This decision also introduced a one-piece patch for full combat members.

Originating in Kansas City, Missouri, the CVMA  expanded rapidly, with Kentucky, Massachusetts, Colorado, and Missouri being among the earliest states to establish charters, each submitting by-laws around the same time. Now, after over 20 years, the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association   continues to thrive globally, united in its commitment to support and assist combat veterans.
